Outstanding Conduct and Focus in the Pre-Public Examinations.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our year 11 cohort, the class of 2020, for their outstanding conduct during the PPEs. This week they have completed formal examinations in many subjects, some over 2 hours long. Our committed team of invigilators, many of whom have worked with us for several years have been delighted with the mature and sensible way that the students have responded to these important examinations.

The completed examination papers are now being thoroughly marked, standardised and cross checked to ensure that teachers have a very clear understanding of where each student may need additional support. Where necessary we will intervene with individual students to help them improve the specific skills, knowledge or understanding that are preventing them from achieving their potential.

These examinations will give us the clearest view so far, of how well our young people are doing, and it is the teacher projections, based on these examinations, which will be shared with colleges and other post-16 providers.

Thank you to parents and carers for your support during this important examination period. If you have any concerns do not hesitate to contact us.

Mr Marshall
