Our Year 11 students joined us this morning for the Year 11 Leavers’ Breakfast. After some time to chat, sign shirts and leavers’ books, it was a pleasure to share memories of their 5 years at Mossley Hollins, during the special assembly. Students also heard emotional speeches from their Head of Year, Mr Beaumont, and I was honoured to speak to them together for the final time. We are so proud of what a great group of young people they are and it was a pleasure to see them all together for the final time in school. We look forward to sharing their results with them at the end of August.
Last week, on Monday a number of Year 9 students and their families attended the annual PRIDE awards. Over 50 students achieved the coveted PRIDE award, which rewards excellent learning and attendance throughout the year in all subjects. A number of students also achieved the 100% attendance certificate for being present every day this school year. Jessica Mann started and ended the ceremony in the best possible way with a performance on the piano performing Maple Leaf Rag by Scott Jophin and Fur Elise by Beethoven. The awards ceremony was a huge success and the students’ outstanding achievements this year were recognised and celebrated. We wish all of our Year 9 students every success next year.
Thank you to our school Governor, Mrs Stefani, who presented the awards and to the form mentors of Bronte College for their speeches and support on the evening. Thank you also to Mr Doodson, and Mrs Din who presented the event.
Thank you to all the parents, carers and family members who attended the ceremony, your attendance and support at these occasions is always appreciated by both the school and our students.
