I am working on a letter with full details for parents on the plans for students returning to classroom learning and the expectations on their return. I hope to be in a position to send this letter to you on Monday. However, I really wanted to provide as much notice as possible to families about the plans, so have detailed below an outline of our plans to help you to prepare.
You may be aware that all students must be offered 3 lateral flow tests in school in their return, students are able to return to classroom learning as soon as they have their first negative result. To ensure that we get students back to classroom learning as soon as possible, in line with the latest guidance we will be inviting students to have their first test in school from Wednesday 3rd March, as follows:
Year 10 and 11 – Wednesday 3rd
Year 7 and 9 – Thursday 4th
Year 8 – Friday 5th
The expectation would be that all students would then return to the building on Monday 8th March, unless they have a positive outcome from the test. The 2nd and 3rd of the lateral flow tests would then be done during the period between Monday 8th March and Monday 15th March.
We would strongly encourage students to walk to school for their test where possible to avoid using public transport. Actual timings for the tests will be sent out on Monday morning.
Thank you to the very many families who have already provided their consent for testing, if you have not already done so please ensure that you complete the consent form by Monday 1st March, to let us know whether you are / are not consenting.
