EXAMINATION SUCCESS FOR MOSSLEY HOLLINS’ STUDENTS.

The staff and governors of Mossley Hollins High School would like to congratulate our Year 11 students (The Class of 2025) for their successful performance in this year’s GCSE examinations. We are really pleased that over 80% of students have achieved a standard pass English, with over 75% of students achieving a standard pass in mathematics. In addition to this, 61% of students achieved a strong pass in English with 55% achieving a strong pass in mathematics. We are really pleased to report that 64% of students studied the English Baccalaureate with almost 40% of students achieving good grades in all of their English Baccalaureate subjects.

Exceptional individual performances include Lucy Kelly who achieved the much-coveted Grade 9 in 8 of her subjects in addition to Grade 8 in two subjects; and Harry Wadsworth who achieved Grade 9 in 7 of his subjects and Grade 8 in another. Congratulations also go to Charlotte Rhodes, Anna Sydney, and Maxwell Guy who also achieved Grades 9 in a number of subjects. This is a fabulous achievement for all of these students, given how few students nationally are awarded these grades.

The school is also delighted to report astonishing progress in learning across the 5 years from Bryn Ryan, Archie Moreland, Luca Ovenden-Edwards, Eva-Grace Naggs, Harriet Sice, Isla Hallworth, Connor Brough and Rosa Li, all of whom worked exceptionally hard despite, in some cases, very challenging circumstances, and performed at a level way beyond expectations.

As always, we are very proud of our students, particularly given the challenging circumstances which they have endured over the past few years. They have worked extremely hard and risen to so many challenges to secure results which will allow them to take the next steps into education, training or employment.

Students’ achievement is very pleasing in a range of subjects particularly in Separate Sciences with over 30% of students achieving a Grade 7 or above in all 3 sciences. Similarly, there were also excellent results in Statistics where 55% of students achieved Grade 7 or above and in Art where over 30% of students achieved Grade 7 or above.

We are particularly pleased with the performance of children with a special educational need who have worked really hard to overcome barriers to their learning. Over 70% of SEN students achieved a standard pass in English and 70% achieved a standard pass in mathematics. This is testament to their hard work and resilience.

The school would like to thank our parents and families for their help, support and encouragement and our staff for all their hard work and for the support they have provided to our students.

Phil Wilson, Chief Executive of the Tame River Educational Trust, has praised students across the Trust for their outstanding achievements in this year’s GCSE examinations.

“On behalf of the Trust, I extend my warmest congratulations to all our students. Their results are a testament to years of dedication, resilience, and hard work. We are immensely proud of what they have accomplished.

I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to our staff and governors, whose unwavering commitment and support have been instrumental in guiding our students to success.”
