Welcome to Mossley Hollins High School. Ours is a happy, academically ambitious and inclusive school which is passionate about learning.  We are very proud to be at the heart of our local community. Mossley Hollins is a highly successful 11-16 co-educational, maintained school, dedicated to helping children develop into confident, successful and responsible adults who are able to play an active part in society.  At the heart of what we do are our deeply held values of manners, hard work and honesty.

We firmly believe that these attributes, combined with the best in modern curriculum design and innovative teaching and learning, allow our students to be successful, regardless of their background or prior achievement. We stretch the most able to the prestigious Grade 9 qualifications at GCSE and support those who have fallen behind at primary school to ‘catch-up’.

At Mossley Hollins we believe that success should be measured both by academic progress and achievement, but also by one’s personal and social development and one’s contribution to our community and to society. Students are rewarded when demonstrating their progress in developing their character via our Character Pillars scheme, where they achieve badges in the four pillars of Service, Leadership, Learning and Participation at 3 levels, Apprentice, Graduate  and Master.  Student leadership is an important part of our school, where students in all year groups are encouraged to undertake leadership responsibilities.   Through the development of these important attributes we aim to develop, alongside academic success, good and great learning habits in our students that will serve them well throughout their lives. We call this approach the Mossley Hollins’ Way.
